Why do live bands sound better with live singers vs. live rappers? Subjective I know?

Best bands to see live
fooderfighter asked:

I’m not familiar with musical terms, so this might not come across clearly to some.

When rappers rap with live bands, the sound doesn’t seem harmonious, unlike singers with live bands. By harmonious, I’m trying to describe how the rapper’s voice doesn’t blend in well with the background created by the band. How can you explain it?

Live rappers don’t sound the same live because of studio work. Rappers rap into the mic and then tech crew mixes around with the voice with different types of beats that don’t really sound like real music, as opposed to bands. It’s amazing what technology can do to your voice!

Rappers usually don’t record with the people doing the music, and when they record their voices are changed, bands with singers record with the band, so everything is in tune since they know how they want to sound

The people fronting live bands are singers.

Rap artists are poets with their work set on top of the beat.

Apples and oranges, really.
