What is the best way for a poet to find local bands to write lyrics for their songs?

Try posting things, i mean, you must have places where these guys hang out and whenever i go to them there is paper stuck to notice boards everywhere advertising for a bass player or saying they are a local singer looking for a band etc…why not just do that? Print something out that looks catchy and with your email addy or mobile and i’m sure you’ll get some responses.
