What is the best seating at a concert hall when seeing an opera?
♥Chris♥ asked:
Here are the seating choices:
DC: Dress Circle
OC: Orchestra
OCII: Orchestra II
LM: Lower Mezzanine
UM: Upper Mezzanine
LB: Lower Balcony
UB: Upper Balcony
What do all of these mean and what is the best for seeing an opera?

dude….i’d pick the bathroom lol
in the front
Try to avoid being too high up; it’s cheaper but it gets too warm and too often you can’t see what’s going on.
Go with orchestra II. Or lower mezzanine. This sit you far back enough to see the action, while keeping you close. The upper balcony levels are too far up to get a good view, and the DC and OC are too close.
Row M. Centre if you can get it. It really depends on the layout of the individual theatre. Try and find a seating plan for that particular theatre. You want something where you are reasonably centred so that you can see the entire stage. Make sure you are not in the front 4 or 5 rows. You need to be far enough back to sit comfortably. Always go A reserve or better. More often than not it is worth it.
The definitions you ask for may be different in different theatres or countries, which is why I haven’t used then. I would imagine that upper mezzanine is ‘in the gods’ in which case. Make them pay you to take the tickets. They will be horrible.
