Illmatic- Nas is probably the most recognized as the greatest hip hop album of all time. My personal favorite is Reasonable Doubt- Jay-Z or God’s Son- Nas.

personally i love The pick the sickle and the shovel by Gravedggaz, the whole album, for me, is listenable. easy on the ears and a real thinker, i found it way more pleasent to listen to than 6 feet deep…

…or Ready to die by notorious big. don’t get me wrong i loved tupac as much as anyone, his message was bold (yet unfortunately still largely ignored) i just got a bit fed up of all the west coast sound around at the time, biggie was something different.

I know you said the greatest but it’s too hard to name just one. My favorite is Midnight Mauraders by A Tribe Called Quest.

Others on the list:
Dr. Dre–The Chronic
Biggie–Life after Death
Jay-Z–Reasonable Doubt
Nas–Illmatic
Fugees–Ready or Not
Big Daddy Kane–Tast of Chocolate
Raekwon–Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
Tupac–All Eyez on Me
De La Soul–Stakes is High
Snoop Dogg–Doggy Style
OutKast–Speakerboxx the Love Below
The Roots–Things Fall Apart

All of these albums you can listen to front to back without skipping a song.
