What are the best settings for a concert with a Sony Cybershot DSC W55?

best concert
naynar asked:

I’ve had a lot of digital cameras and taken a lot of concert photography but after being pretty disappointed with all of my expensive point and shoot cameras I just went with this Sony Cybershot W55. It takes great everyday pictures but next month I have a concert coming up and I’m just wondering what the best settings are for a concert? I’ve messed with the low lighting features and it just seems to make the camera lag really badly. any suggestions? thanks!

For low light photography you need a tripod. That will cut down on blurring. You may want to consider a camcorder with 0 lux capability, but I doubt that they would let you record at a concert. If they did you would be able to capture stills from the video. Anyway even if you did have a tripod it still wouldn’t matter. The shutter stays open longer in low light. And I doubt the band will stand still long enough for you to take the picture. In the end it will still blur!!

Most concerts will not let you bring a camera in..They will either make you stay out, or take your camera, and you won’t get it back.

Leave your camera home and buy a program. Just go and have a good time!
