Music Theory Affects Business Psychology of Everyone
Ever since commercials have existed they have been based on the nature of psychology. Using music theory has only served to make this even more obvious.
There may be an advertisement for a food product that has a soulful tune, evoking the memory of some special moment. When at the store later the viewer purchases the product without much thought of the price. Business has once again won in the psychology of the shopper. The advertising industry has many options to choose from with the wide variety of musical tunes at hand. Most importantly the music has to engage the consumer and marry the product across many populations.
The tone is set for productivity when music is played in the workplace. Often desks have radios or workers sporting portable music devices. The subconscious is played to and soothed, allowing for the mind to focus on the task at hand. Music theory comes into play as the tonal influence takes a melodic play for success. there is nothing quite like it. In a factory setting music may preferably be upbeat with a good rhythm. Importantly enough the music also must be harmonious for safety reasons. While once frowned upon – more businesses are allowing music as the psychological effects turn into prosperity.
When business promotions occur and products marketed the importance of music choice cannot be stressed enough. The psychological effects on decision making influence is greatly steeped in music theory. Businesses may go so far as hiring a well known band to represent products. The choice of music that promotes sales and sets that memory in motion is important. When the tune plays in the minds the memory recalls the recent experience that went with that tune. Even after the presentation is the tunes played can bring back psychological recall of feelings associated with the sounds. The memory of the business experience will still be intact.
There is not any area that is not affected by music one way or another. Intelligence testing has even been linked to when children studied music theory with music lessons. Knowing the psychological effect of music theory on business will help foster growth and even develop a more harmonious work environment. When looking at the bottom line where profits are the goal – satisfaction can abound. Any expense toward employing music in business pays off. And the other great thing is that music doesn’t have to cost much to make a difference.
