Guitar Strumming Lessons – Why are they so neglected?

I wouldnt be surprised to hear that youve been frustrated by the apparent lack of guitar strumming lessons available for beginners on the web.

Why is it that guitar websites concentrate so much on chords and leave the actually strumming as an afterthought or worse not cover it at all? Where are their guitar strumming lessons? After all, chords are only one side of the equation. A vital part to playing any song is going to be the strumming pattern.

Well thankfully there are a few excellent sites which understand this important point for beginners and are now providing some quality guitar strumming lessons.

A search on You Tube can also be very helpful but the quality of the lessons can often be badly taught, inaccurate and unprofessional.

The only way to really find professional and well taught guitar strumming lessons is to research the major guitar sites one by one. Test drive their free material, look closely to see what their courses cover and send an email too. This should ensure you make a well informed decision.

Interestingly, strumming patterns on guitar can be the most difficult part to learn for some guitar beginners. Its especially hard if you have an underdeveloped sense of rhythm or worse, no sense of rhythm of all.

It may seem the most natural thing in the world to be able to tell if your in or out of time when you play guitar but I assure you for some students this facility is not so natural! There have been times when I’ve had to try to teach it and it’s extremely difficult to do.

Let’s say that you do have a perfectly normal sense of musical time, it’s going to be fun learning these song patters with good quality guitar strumming lessons.

Now for the good news. It’s not necessary for you to learn hundreds of strums to match with hundreds of songs, in fact, quite the opposite. With a system of just 4 – 6 universal strums you’ll have everything you need to play all the songs you want. Find some decent guitar strumming lessons and you’ll find your frustration at not being able to play songs disappear very quickly.
