Drawing Anime – Tips And Techniques
Animation is often known as anime as an easier way to term it. The phrase was born from animation artwork from Japan such as cartoons or comics. However, it is now more often than not used with cartoons from the country.
Being able to design and produce anime stems from learning how to draw it. Anyone wishing to do so must be passionate about anime as a whole and not just do it because others are. If the approach is the latter, then interest will quickly fizzle out.
An anime artist must also be quite imaginative. This is the main and an important source for ideas for drawing new characters, scenes and stories as a whole. An anime artist without imagination would be like an individual trying to become a champion weightlifter without knowing how to train.
Art can be as much about talent as it is about effort. Those with natural talent would find it easier to learn the ropes, especially with techniques involved in various forms of drawing. It does not necessarily rule out those with less or no talent, but it is an edge that figures prominently in successful anime artists.
Without talent, effort and hard work can make up for it to a large extent. It might require more time for a dedicated artist with less talent to reach his or her goals. Ultimately, it can be achieved with extra drive and determination.
Personal traits and abilities are essential in learning how to draw anime. Techniques are also required in order to build on the more inert skills. The combination of the two will be what makes an anime artist more successful than those who lack in either department.
One of these methods would be to keep an open mind and learn from other artists. Having and developing one’s own drawing style is necessary to have a unique voice in the industry. But to learn and somehow include other artists’ approaches would push one’s masterpieces to higher levels.
Another more standard way of becoming a better anime designer is through learning from textbooks or structured systems. These may seem less exciting and unoriginal compared to other abstract sources. However, it is but one part of the whole grand picture of becoming the best that you can be drawing anime.
