Best and Worst Live bands of all time?
John McCain is My Grandson asked:
there are tons that are great from classic rock but as far as contemporary id have to say Rage, greenday, breaking benjamin
and for the worst, any band tom delonge is in, blink being the best, but some of his angels and airwaves performances are the worst
i actually do like mansons music sometimes more than the lyrics actually

I’m not sure about the worst, but Deep Purple and the Who always had tremendous live concerts.
PRINCE, and whatever band he tours with always put on a good show. Can’t say whether he’s the “best of all time”, but his live show is consistently great.
Marilyn Manson has ALWAYS put on a show. You may not like his music, but he has always been a big visual artist with a shock theme. KISS was superhuman! And Aerowsmith was always a great show. He always put those hankerchif scarves on the mic before rocking it out!
And the worst, Guns And Roses, because he disappointed so many fans due to his hissy fits and not wanting to go on. I like his music though.
the worst it P!ATD wow they were horrid on the 06 VMAs
the absolute best is AFI…Davey Havok is known for his stage performances bc he has such great and active moves…and they sound amazing too.
For the best, I’d pick these 3.
Deep Purple – These guys have always put on a fantastic show, whether it’s a big arena or at a state fair. Ian Gillan is a masterful showman.
J. Geils Band – people mostly remember them for a couple of 80′s bubblegum-pop hits at the end of their career, but in their prime, no one put on a show like J. Geils. Just hours and hours of straight up blues-rock that had the crowd going from the first song to the last.
Minor Threat – Wherever these guys played, the fans just went berzerk. So much raw energy, so much freedom to just let go. Here’s a clip from one of their shows:
As far as the worst….the worst I’ve seen personally seen was an alternative band called Mission U.K. Absolutely no stage presence, very pretentious, and musically just lousy. I wasn’t the only one who felt that way, either. The lead singer went into the crowd at the end of his set to hand out roses to the crowd. People kept throwing them back at him!
id say iced earth and megadeth are some of the best live bands ive ever seen and id say dragon force and children of bodom were some of the worst live performances ive seen. both are great bands on record but dragon force just ***** live and when i saw children of bodom, their sound was a f ucked up.
best – aerosmith, steve tyler is so entertaining, i just went to see them on thursday. they kicked ***!
worst i would say is either panic at the disco or my chemical romance.
the worst bands
greenday started out ok then sucked
my chemical romance
and those crappy nu-metal bands
Paramore is great live.
Hayley Williams-Their lead singer sounds amazing even live.
Lil Chris isnt that good live…..
The best live bands
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Green Day
Nirvana
Audioslave
Faith No More
Linkin Park
Oh yea and The White stripes
The Worst
Panic! At The Disco (AWFUL VOCALS) VMAs
Fall Out Boy (ALSO AWFUL VOCALS) Live Earth
My Chemical Romance
Almost Any Other Emo/Screamo Bands
I’ve seen then live, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are AMAZING! The concert is fun and exciting and John Always goes into these crazy solos (they aren’t wayy to long though).
Worst-Well, i saw Fall Out Boy on t.v once, and they ******. Maybe i just think that because I **** the band though…
The best show is Tool hands down, but as far as best musical performance its a tie between, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Breaking Benjamin, Alice in Chains, Rancid, and Tool
Worst has been system of a down, i mean i love their music but i’ve seen them play a few times and they just seemed so bored.
best , queen, iron maiden,Roy Orbison and friends, worst , milli vanilli.
Led Zeppelin and Metallica are great live bands..
i don’t know of any really bad ones.. they all have good and bad performances..
Theres far too many great gigs to mention but I can name a few of the worst I witnessed.
Christian Death supported cradle of filth on uk tour december 2001. The band took themselves far too seriously, the singer did a **** march onto the stage. The ***** bassist was wearing a ******* type outfit with straps and a strap broke away to reveal her (cough!) downstairs. Eventually the crowd was chanting **** OOT! The singer said into the mic at the end of the set “25 years and this is the thanks we get!” and slammed the mic down. Fantastic
Also seen the Bardo support Machine Head at the Glasgow Barrowlands. They were some terrible London band. I see a guy on his pals shoulders in front of the singer giving him the finger and pointing for them to get offstage. Then I seen a guy being circled by his mates and ducking down, then a pint of lager flying out of the circle and into the singer/guitarist face. His guitar packed in then he challenged the entire venue to a fight. aaah good times
papa roach is best and fall out boy is totally the worst
metallica, led zep, lamb of god,RHCP are all good
dragonforce sux live since they get wasted onstage :p. however their CDs are sweet
AC/DC was great
Best live acts I have seen: Rage, Jane’s Addiction, Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, U2 and The Cure. Almost every time these bands had the best sound, energy and overall stage performance to make me glad I dropped so much $$ to see them.
Worst I have seen…well I have seen a lot of bad bands at various festivals (went to just about all the “Paloozas” lol) that I can’t remember but I have been disappointed by Depeche Mode and Jane’s Addiction (too high to play properly). Oh yeah- I hated Spiritualized…B-o-r-i-n-g. I saw Blink ages ago before they “hit it big” and they ****** but they were really funny. Their banter was always fun so good thing they had really short songs
My dad was lucky enough to see Led Zep back in the day…he said they were awful! Surprised me lol. He said The Who was great though.
Best:
Newsboys – Great live in concert and a great message
Some of their best songs:
Something beautiful, Who, Joy, Thrive, Breakfast, Live in Stereo, It is you, He Reigns, Wherever we go, I am Free
No offense to The Used fans but they are probally the worst performers on the face of the earth. They are amzing song writters but are horrible at performing.
Some bands that are amazing performers have to be:My Chemical Romance,30 Seconds To Mars,Aiden,Taking Back Sunday,Muse, Senses Fail, and Underoath. Note:I dont listen to Underoath but saw them live with Taking Back Sunday and was blown away.
Best:
Depeche Mode
Green Day
Metallica
Marilyn Manson
Worst:
Who live in the UK recently (really showed their age – and what happened to cranking up the volume!!)
