Beginner Guitar Songs – You Can Start to Write Your Own Songs in No Time

Beginner guitar songs are actually a lot easier to play than most people would think.

Most of the time during our early stages as beginner guitarists we tend to work on strengthening our fingers, and learning as many chords and scales as possible.

But this approach may not always produce the best results for your future as a guitarist.

Sure it is necessary to work on your technique, strength and speed to become a good guitarist, but neglecting the real musical part of the process can actually get you bored and you may start to consider the guitar playing experience as a chore rather than fun.

Hence, playing songs is not only fun, but also useful to advance your skill level.

Actually, playing and writing songs comes really down to knowing commonly used chords and a few common chord progressions.

Chords played in a specific order constitute a chord progression.

Chord progression is determined by looking at the key chord, which is the first chord played.

Say you start with G. The other two chords you’d play would be C and D, which are normally followed by another G to complete the loop. So the progression is basically G-C-D-G. You’ll find out that there are thousands of songs based on this progression alone.

Playing this chord progression in a loop (a repetitive manner) can easily become a song, especially if you can sing along.

This all may seem a little bit challenging or confusing at first, but once you understand some basic rules like the “I – IV – V” chord progression, you can easily begin to understand how most of the very popular songs are written and actually start to impress people with your own songs.
