Bad Santa: Willie Stokes has an interesting gig. Every year he works as Santa Clause on Christmas Eve. When the shops close, Willie and his partner make a big score by breaking into the safe.

Stage Fright: Theater student Wyman turns covert sleuth because an actress’ spouse is killed. There are some stimulating scenes however the Mr. Hitchcock misses on this one. Cast includes Marlene Dietrich, Jane Wyman, Richard Todd, Kay Walsh, Aastair Sim, Joyce Grenfell, Sybil Thorndike, and Patricia Hitchcock. (110 minutes,’50)

A Good Woman: Strange rendition of Oscar Wilde’s Woman Windermere’s Fan, which has been filmed a few times over the years, set in Italy instead of England and updated from the’90s to the’30s. A number of Wilde’s British characters now are Americans. Cast includes Helen Seek, Scarlett Johansson, Milena Vukotic, Stephen Campbell Moore, Mark Umbers, Tom Wilkinson, and Diana Hardcastle. Dangerous Liaisons: Set in the 1760′s, a wager has been made. Cecile de Volanges, a virtuous woman, is soon to be married. The Marquise de Merteuil bets an ex-lover, Viconte de Valmont, that he can’t seduce her before the wedding day. Who will win the ugly little bet?

Iron Will: Kid enters a Winnipeg-to-St. Paul dog-sled race in the WW1 era. The outcome is so predictable that you nearly anticipate everything that will happen from to start to finish. Cast includes Mackenzie Astin, Kevin Spacey, August Schellenberg, David Ogden Stiers, Brian Cox, George Gerdes, and John Terry. (109 minutes,’94)

The Net: Angela Bennett is a computer geek. She receives a program, and is asked to de-bug it. Shortly after receiving the program, the man who sent it to her is killed. What’s on the disc is of vital importance to someone. They know she has it, and she is now running for her life as she tries to figure out just who is after her, and why.
