A Number Of Straightforward Feature Film Reviews

It wasn’t that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. High speed internet access has now made it possible to download movies right off a movie download site. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

Halloween H2O: She has faked her own death and changed her name to get away from Michael Myers. Now, 20 years later, Laura Strode is a teacher at a private school. When most of the students leave on a trip, Laura stays, along with her son and her girlfriend. It is Halloween night, and you guessed in, Michael Myers has found Laura, and is coming after all of them.

Coming To America: Prince Akeem has come to Queens N.Y. from Africa. Back in Africa, a wife has been selected for him to marry. Instead the Prince comes to America to find the love of his life, and marry her instead.

Ghost Busters II: The ghost busters are on their second major adventure. Their company went bust but when Dana begins to have problems again, the team reunites to come to her aid. Once again, New York is approaching a supernatural apocalypse. It’s up to the ghost busters to save New York again.

Alaska: Adolescent venture on a grand scale, as a brother and sister take off looking for their dad and his downed plane. Structured like an old B movie melodrama, however implemented with conviction contrary to magnificent, snowy landscape and characterizing an irresistible polar bear who befriends the youngsters. Heston, whose child prompted the drama, plays a mean, cunning old man. Cast includes Thora Birch, Vincent Kartheiser, Dirk Benedict, Charlton Heston, Duncan Fraser, and Gordon Tootoosis. (110 minutes, 1996)

The Happiest Days of Your Life: Pat Patricia to take issues into her own hands. Beautifully orchestrated and photographed by Jack Hildyard, with Laughton having a stellar performance in the lead role. The movie loses steam during the journey but it is still amusing. Cast includes Alastair Sim, Margaret Rutherford, Gentleman Middleton, Joyce Grenfell, Edward Rigby, Muriel Aked, John Bentley, Bernadette O’Farrell, and Richard Wattis. (84 minutes, 1950)

The Night of the Following Day: Excellent cast makes this sordid story of a young gal’s abduction somehow more fascinating than it should be; pretty coarse in spots. Cast includes Marlon Brando, Richard Boone, Rita Moreno, Pamela Franklin, Jess Hahn, and Gerard Buhr. (93 minutes, 1969)

Hook, Line & Sinker: Conceivably ludicrous premise about allegedly dying man who runs up one hundred thousand in credit card debt. Even Lewis fans can be bored. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Peter Lawford, Anne Francis, Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez, Jimmy Miller, and Kathleen Freeman. (91 minutes, 1951)

Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles’ classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn’t work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees’ performing ability, well let’s just say that they are not the Beatles. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes, 1978)

Cujo: Sincerely terrifying adaptation of Stephen King thriller about a female and her child terrorized by a rabid St. Bernard. The plot develops gradually and is undoubtedly too horrifying (although not gory) for kids. Cast includes Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh-Kelly, Christopher Rock, and Factories Watson. (91 minutes, 1983)
