A Guide To Easy Guitar Songs
One of the common problems a lot of people just learning guitar encounter is trying to find easy guitar songs for beginners.
The learning process is all about maintaining an even learning curve and for this reason its important to make a smooth transition out of chords and into suitable easy guitar songs.
So what qualifies as an easy guitar song for beginners? The song must have a small number or chords, say a maximum of 4, and a simple strumming pattern. Please Mr. Postman by the Beatles or Stand By Me by Ben E. King would be good examples of easy guitar songs which fill this criteria.
A lot of easy guitar songs for beginners have just one or two progressions which simply repeat throughout the entire duration of the song; this means you can add your first easy guitar songs with little effort and gain some confidence.
It’s vital to play along with original recordings when you practice the songs. Strumming should be smooth and even. Pay attention to your chords and ensure they are changing correctly with the lyrics.
First play the chords doing just one single strum on each new chord. Then mute your strings and practice the strum on its own in time with the recording.
Stage 2 is to apply just half of the strum to each chord. This is a great intermediate step before finally attempting to do the full strum. The technique is to gradually build up to playing the song by isolating each element first.
It’s this technique of gradually building each element that gives you the greatest chance of being able to play easy guitar songs for beginners.
There are sites online where you can download the lyrics and chords for songs but the problem is that they give you little or no guidance on the strumming. Often all you need is a system of 4 – 5 strums and once learned these will become universal and allow you to play 100′s of easy guitar songs for beginners.
Of course its worth noting that its a mistake to attempt any kind of song, even easy guitar songs for beginners, too soon and before you have correctly learned your chords and strums.
The better you learn your basic chords and strumming patterns the easy its going to be to play lots of easy guitar songs for beginners in the long run.[youtube:gn-nKql1-3I;How To [link:Easy Guitar Songs For Beginners];http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn-nKql1-3I&feature=related]
